How to Stand Out in a Crowd

How will your practice survive?

How will you stand out in a crowded market?

So you can keep your doors open in the era of app-based mental healthcare and the commoditization of therapy.

There’s no simple answer, but here are a few suggestions for you.

I have a ton more ideas. These are just the first three. LOL.

1. Specialize

Choosing a specific niche (or a few) is still good advice in 2024. How can you be either the best option or the only option?

My friends at Willow Tree Counseling are the only local option in Sonoma County for sex addiction treatment.

I’m pretty sure that Creative Healing is the best place in Flour Town, PA to get quality DBT therapy for depressed teens with self destructive behaviors.

I could give you many more examples, but you get the idea.

2. Be 100% YOU

Whatever your focus, excellent branding will always make a business stand out. This is more important than ever.

Don’t be afraid to be creative, fun or even irreverent. My practice works with a lot of teens, so we have a fun music theme on the website and in our offices.

On the flip side . . .

Don’t be afraid to be super professional and clinical. Honestly, whatever will connect with your ideal clients is the way to go.

Side note: if this is not your jam, hire a branding person or company to help you out. Find some good options on our directory, like Practicery, who I’ve used multiple times.

3. Offer amazingly personal customer service

Quick response times, personalized matching to the right therapist, a human connection with a caring intake coordinator.

Take that ChatGPT!

These are just a few things that will make your practice more valuable than downloading an app and swiping right on a series of therapists.

I definitely recommend checking out my newest offering.
