App Terms And Conditions

Last updated: 16 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the Productive Therapist mobile app and member communities, operated by Productive Therapist, Inc. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Who can use the app

You must be 18 or older and hold an active membership or invitation. Accounts are personal. Do not share your login or let anyone else use your account.

No client information, ever

Our communities are for practice owners talking about running a practice. You may not post protected health information or any information that could identify a client, whether or not you have their consent. This includes names, initials, dates, locations, diagnoses, session content, and identifying details in a case example.

Discuss clinical situations in general terms only, with all identifying details changed or removed. We are not a HIPAA business associate for the content you post, and you remain solely responsible for your own compliance obligations. We may remove any post we believe contains client information, without notice, and we may suspend accounts that repeat it.

How to behave here

Be useful and be decent. Do not harass, threaten, or demean other members. Do not post anything unlawful, discriminatory, or deliberately false. Do not spam, recruit, or promote your own services outside spaces we designate for it. Do not scrape, copy, or redistribute member content or course materials.

Your content

What you post stays yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it within the app and our communities, so the product can function. You can delete your posts at any time. Copies may persist in backups for a limited period.

Our content

Courses, trainings, templates, recordings, and other materials are owned by Productive Therapist or licensed to us. They are for your own use in your own practice. You may not resell, republish, or share them outside your practice, and access ends when your membership does.

Moderation

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, at our discretion. We will usually warn you first, but we do not have to when the breach is serious.

Membership and payment

Fees, billing periods, and cancellation terms are set out at the point of purchase and in your membership agreement. Those terms govern payment. Cancelling ends access at the end of the paid period. We do not provide refunds for partial periods unless required by law.

This is not advice

Everything in the app is general business information for practice owners. It is not legal, tax, clinical, or financial advice, and it does not create a professional relationship. Decisions about your practice are yours. Consult your own attorney, accountant, or clinical supervisor.

Availability

We aim to keep the app running but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. The app relies on third-party providers, and their outages affect us.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Productive Therapist, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Productive Therapist, Inc. against claims arising from your content, your use of the app, or your breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and continued use after that means you accept them.

Build a Therapy Practice that Doesn't Depend On You

Every Tuesday, get one practical way to simplify your practice and reclaim your time.

A woman relaxes at a desk while a friendly robot works on a laptop; a dog lies nearby, with a clock, window, plant, and coffee cups in the background.
