The 5 Things Thriving Practices Do Differently

Ninety-five percent of therapists agree on what makes a practice thrive.

But only 7% are actually keeping score. 🤯

Cory Polonetsky is VP of Product at Ensora Health (makers of TheraNest), and he came on the show to talk about something his team spent months building: the 2026 Practice Success Report.

It's based on research from over 1,100 clinicians, done in partnership with the American Counseling Association, all aimed at one question:

What actually separates a thriving practice from a struggling one?

The answer landed on five domains: client outcomes, financial health, practice operations, clinician wellbeing, and client experience. Ninety-five percent of therapists surveyed agreed these are the things that matter.

But only 7% said they're tracking all five. Most track one, if that.

The good news, according to Cory, is that this isn't really a knowledge problem. It's a starting-point problem. Pick one domain, track one simple thing, and the other four tend to improve right along with it.

Curious where your practice actually stands on all five? Give the episode a listen.
