Uriah: Hi this is Uriah with Productive Therapist and this is “10 Questions with Ernesto Segismundo”, Enjoy.
#1 What is your name and job title or license type?
My name is Ernesto and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
#2 What do you love about your job or your business?
One of the things that I love about what I do, my job, or my business is that it allows me the freedom to travel and also create my own schedule.
#3 What are 2 things that you always do in the first 60-90 minutes of your day?
Oh okay, I like this question. So the first 60-90 minutes of my day, I like to position my mind to where I can be productive. As someone who struggles with ADHD and attention, if I don’t do this I go off the rails. I start thinking about other things that are not productive. So to make sure that I position my mind in the right direction and to be productive, I actually read books that would inspire me to create things in my business or to do things in my business. So lately I’ve been reading some of Mike Michalowicz books. I’ve also been reading some other books in finances, so it positions my mind for that. So I do that first. The next thing I do is, I actually have a routine in the morning where I go to Starbucks. And that is something that I do every single morning. I go to Starbucks, get my hot Peppermint Mocha with whip cream, and that also positions my emotions and it puts me in a good mood when I have coffee in my system, especially Peppermint Mocha. So those are the two things…maybe about 30 minutes of reading content in a book that is going to inspire me, that is going to position my mind to work on my businesses, and also to increase my mood. And the other one of those things is Peppermint Mocha in the morning. And it’s been a daily routine for me.
#4 What is your go-to drink or snack for productive energy?
Oh my goodness, in the morning in order for me to be productive I have to have my Peppermint Mocha, like I said earlier. Peppermint Mocha for some reason puts me in the right direction and the right mood. And I literally become very productive between 6 AM to 12 PM. And then when lunchtime comes around, lunch is something that I really look forward to. I actually have a big lunch during that time and it’s pretty much anything and everything that goes on in my mind that I want to eat. After lunch, I take a nap, and I know you really shouldn’t be doing that, uh you get fat (laughs), but for me, that’s my routine. Peppermint Mocha in the morning to get me emotionally prepared for the day, and behaviorally get me in the right type of mood for the day. And than sandwiching those times at 12:00, 11:30-12:00, for a really nice big meal and a nap.
#5 What does a very productive day look for you?
So a productive day really looks like for me that, because I have 3 businesses I want to make sure that throughout the day I’m doing something with each of those businesses. So I have my group practice called “CAV Family Therapy”, I’ve got Fylmit.com which is my videography company and I create promotional videos and edit videos. And, my third is CAVacademy, which is, I am a continuing education provider and I create these summits and conferences in the United States vacation spots. So I want to at least touch-up, every single day, on each one of those businesses, whether I’m emailing or making contact to grow any of those businesses, or even creating a landing page, or collecting money from people who are registering on any of my events. So that is a productive day for me.
#6 What is your favorite way to rest and recover?
I’m a napper so every single day between 12-2 PM I am napping. And no matter where I’m at, all over the world or in the United States, I try to make sure that I nap every single day I’ve noticed that between those times that’s when my brain starts shutting down and wanting to reset. So napping throughout the day between those times is really good for me, and it takes me about 30 minutes to get my bearings when I wake up from a nap. But usually after 2:30-3:00 I get very very productive so it’s really fun to rest up that way.
#7 Are you a Mac or PC person and why?
I may get crucified for saying this, but I’m a PC person, not a Mac person. I use PC because my editing software for videos is easier to complete and to accomplish on a PC. And Macs are great, but because I’ve grown up with PCs with videos and editing videos with a PC I got used to it so that’s why I use PCs.
#8 What is the best business books you have read?
So I love books and for those of you who follow me on social media, I post books that really help me with my business and also inspires me to move forward, to not only grow but flourish all my businesses. A book that comes to mind is “Ninja Selling: Subtle Skills. Big results”, it’s by Larry Kendall. The interesting thing about this book is that it actually is geared towards real estate agents, but in there it talks a lot about marketing and how you attract clients by becoming yourself and becoming more attractive to people instead of going after clients. You actually become a shiny object yourself so they come to you instead of seeking out clients. So there’s a lot of good content there. Another book that comes to mind is any of Mike Michalowicz books especially ”Profit First“ because financially, I’ve struggled with finances all through my life and when I picked up this book some years ago I was really thrown off with all the things that I wasn’t doing in my business financially. When I implemented some of his content and some of his strategies, I noticed a huge jump and net revenue in my businesses.
“Okay, so I’m going to be a little of a narcissistic here…”
#9 If you were a hot sauce, what would your spice level be? (1-10 with 10 being the hottest).
Okay, you know what I’m very hot, I think. I’ve very spicy, I’ve got a spicy attitude, but I’m a nice guy. I would say this, I would say that I’m a level 9. Let’s do that I’m just going to say a level 9 of hotness (laughs).
#10. Where can people find out more about you and what you do?
So people can find me on Social Media, I’m very active on Facebook and Instagram. But I also host a Facebook group called Flymit.com video marketing for therapists so if you’re interested in learning more about videography or marketing yourself on social media, that group is for you. So you can always get a hold of me there, I do a lot of live streaming videos, tutorials on that group and I also post the new and latest strategies on social media marketing for therapists. If you want to reach out to me you can reach me on that platform.
Bonus Question: What is one of your best tips for success and happiness?
My best tip for success and happiness in the context of your business is #1 being yourself. When you show up on social media when you show up authentically in your businesses, and with people that you work with you become one of the best brands out there. You are tracking the right people and repelling the wrong people and when you are in-line with your values in the context of your businesses, happiness, fulfillment, purpose, and meaning all will come to you. The money will become secondary, your happiness and your freedom will come first. So seek that, instead of the wealth, and the money and all abundance will come to you.
